Testimonies and Success Stories

Many of our students have experienced first hand the "POWER change" . Through their own hard work and motivation. Here is what those wonderful girls had to say:

"The Mabel Park SHS POWER Program has helped me in so many ways. I don't think I could ever have gotten as far as I have if I were at a TAFE or a different High School. I have two little girls. Lots of People said it would be too hard for me to complete my senior certificate with two children. Trish,   Julie,  Vicky, Dawn, Jackie and Dorothy believed in me. Because of POWER, next year I will be going to university to study nursing. The program has taught me to believe in myself"

Sarah, Year 12 graduate of 2005

"Without POWER, I would be doing NOTHING. I wouldn't have been where I am. I am now studying a Diploma in Screen Animation and will be doing a Bachelor of Game Design next year. I am on track"

Ashlee, Year 12 graduate of 2008

"POWER has given me power. It helped me be a better mother and helped me grow in Knowledge. I am half way through my Diploma in Children's Services. I can focus on my Kids' future.

Rejoice, Year 12 graduate of 2008

"The crèche helped me a lot, without them I wouldn't have finished my last year with good grades. The best part was to interact with other young mums. I will be going to study a Diploma of Fashion Design at TAFE next year"

Laura, Year 12 graduate of 2009

"The POWER program let me finish school where my other High School wouldn't. I like to have the crèche nearby and all the staff are really helpful. It's a good comprise for a mum and student"

Kristen, Year 11 student of 2009

"The POWER program" gave me choices. I can now have a future. As a young mum, I had no social life but through POWER, I met friends as well as an education.

Jasmine, Year 11 student of 2009
