Local Bus Service

In the last 5 years, the POWER staff have been more than aware of the lack of transport the POWER students often suffered from. It  indeed  appeared to be a high need for the young parents to be able to attend  classes and on time.

In 2006 and after careful consideration, The Power Coordinator and Mable  Park State High School applied to the  "Gambling  Community Benefit fund" and were granted funds to purchase a bus to alleviate the  difficulties experienced by POWER students.

Here are examples of how the bus may be able to assist all POWER students and their children:

Before School:

• Pick up from local bus stops

• Pick up from local train station

• Pick up from local homes

After School:

• Drop off  to local bus stops

• Drop off to local train station

• Drop off at local homes

During School Hours:

• Transport to appropriate individual appointments after Coordinators' approval (such as doctor, child health, pregnancy testing, counselling , housing..)

• Group transport to activities, meetings and Personal development classes (Playgroups, break up parties, antenatal classes, parenting classes, relationship  and communication information sessions...)
